Personally I think there are too many DJs in each room, but that is just me, and who am I to tell Bal en Blanc how to do their show eh?

Honey Dijon @ Unity

this is my dilemma, I'm supposed to go to Quebec City this weekend, but in case I ended up not going, it looks like DJ Honey Dijon will be my choice for the evening. She plays hard and I'm kind of wanting to hear something in that style. I like Hector Fonseca, and I know he will be super pumped up from his Carnival gig, but don't know, I might miss his set this time - that if I don't ended up going to QC.

and if you want to keep partying until early hours of Sunday morning, I would recommend Mr. Stéfane Lippé at Circus.

and it is official, Carnival finished today (ash Wednesday), and Florianopolis have once again taken most of the votes as the best Carnival in Brazil (I'm sure some of you won't agree with me).

Black Party - NYC - March 21, 2009

One of the most infamous New York parties is fast approaching, but be warned, this is not a party for amateurs. I've been invited to go down and haven't said no or yes yet.

Edit (March 26): guys, I really wished I had gone to this party so I could give my own review, but this is what a friend of mine texted right after the party:

"I loved the Black party...thought Boris was the best...even Junior was good for once. Most people didn't like Boris though cause he doesn't play vocals. I loved the nonvocal tribal techno style Boris has."

then looking at the comments you guys are leaving, it looks like there were more people that were left unsatisfied with this year's Black Party.

Hector Fonseca - Montreal Tour

Fresh from his Brazilian carnival gig, Hector Fonseca is coming to Montreal to release his new CD at Parking. The handsome Fonseca just hosted the Maxima party at the Monte Libano last Friday (one of the many Carnival parties) in Rio de Janeiro, and people are still raving about his set over there.

A-ha - latest tour

one of my favourite bands ever will be touring South America in the next couple of days. I truly wished I was in Rio for their show in March, and I know Morten, and the others, still keep close to their hearts their performance back in 1991 at the Rock in Rio. I still get Goosebumps every time I watch the clip (A-ha @ Rock in Rio).

Carnaval Brasil 2009 - Feb 20-24, 2009

Some of my friends are already in Brazil, some are taking off soon, but I know other people are searching for the parties they should check out. Obviously you should try to check out the non-electronic related extravaganza that occurs all over the country, but here are some of my recommendations for the electronic side of the business.

Once again, Floripa (Florianopolis) would be my city of choice if I were to to spend the carnival 2009 in Brazil.

Black Party Weekend is coming up and Ric Sena is bringing Abel and the handsome Micky Friedmann to warm up the former Crobar Space.

P90X - Patius Edition

Today was my day # 90 in my P90X workout, which means round 1 has ended. I did promise you to post the before and after pictures, but instead I decided to create a mini-video with what I did. I'm sure other people have had better results than me, but I'm happy with what I was able to achieve in 90 days.

Guys, I still don't know how this program has not become more popular, actually I know why, because it is hard and people just want the easy way out of everything. Loved every single day of it, and once I return from my vacation I will start round 2.

My Winter Break

It is February, and I find this is the perfect month to go away. This is the time when people start to get tired of the white stuff, including me, and next week I shall be somewhere warm thanks to Continental Airlines (and no, they are no sponsors of this blog .. but if Mr. CEO is reading this posting, please contact me ASAP and we can talk about it).

Promise to post "Mind Control" review before I go, and by now most of you have heard the latest rumor - (((the place))) should be opening soon, and why not have 2 locals and 2 imported to welcome the night? Dunno maybe Stéphan Grondin, Danny Torrence, Danny Tenaglia and David Morales? I'm sure your list would be different, but what we both have in common is the fact we want this place to reopen ... and soon ... people are beginning to get fat in Montreal.

Talking about fat, this is my final week (#13) in my P90X journey, and people I'm so glad I decided to do this Extreme Home Fitness workout. Will post the before and after pictures on Tuesday - I'm sure other people had much better results than me, but I'm very happy with what I was able to achieved. If you want to get in shape, I highly recommend this workout, and I loved so much that I decided not the renew my membership at the YMCA.

Check the P90X week 1 review by Tom - funny guy - to give you an idea of what I had to go thru during the last 13 weeks.



Finally, for those lucky ones travelling to Brazil for Carnival, I will try to post some of the scheduled parties in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Florianopolis, when I return from Central America. If you asked me, I would spend Carnival in Floripa if I were you.

Joe Hickerson @ Parking

Back in May 2008, last time I remember Joe played at Parking, I couldn't go because I was saving myself for Stereo (Danny Torrence and Victor Calderone), nevertheless I got to see him dancing at the temple until early hours of Sunday morning. I do recall everyone, that had arrived from Parking, were telling me how good he had been.

You can check his personal blog and download two sets he has posted, and decided if Parking is the place to go tonight.

Pablo Ceballos @ Karma this weekend

Karma, the new hot spot in Montreal, which I still haven't visited. Once I do, I will tell you my personal view of this place. Pablo Ceballos is scheduled to play there this coming Saturday, and I would say this would be an interesting night to check out the place and see Ceballos in action.

By the way, if you think you saw Pablo at Parking last weekend, you are right, he was taking a break from his busy schedule, and took advantage to check out his buddies in action (Mind Control - review coming soon).
