Chus & Ceballos @ Stereo - March 20, 2010

When I got there, the place was just beginning to fill up, and I didn't have to wait at all to get in because I had a ticket, and yes, there were people waiting in line. Each new arrival added to the rising energy surrounding the dance floor, I quickly glanced a look to the decks and you could see how ready Chus & Ceballos were for the night, big smiles, warm feeling and I'm sure in their heads they already had a master plan how they were going to attack the dance floor. Jungle fever with zebra dancers and everything you need to have a wild night of dancing, do I need to say more?

A remixed version of "Como Sera o Amanhã" started to play, a Brazilian samba tune mixed into a tribal style, and by now I knew what kind of Chus & Ceballos I was going to hear.

The place quickly fill to capacity and this is when the party started, volume went up and the energy followed accordingly. Chus & Ceballos are perfect for long sets, because they are able to give a perfect beginning, the middle and the end of a story, they are capable of taking you into a voyage with different meanings, and all of them making sense, at least in you head.

The duo were divine from beginning to end, and peak time was at around 7:00am, and too bad if you didn't stay until this time because you probably missed the best of the party. Groove music, with reborn tribal tunes, original classics, new wave tribal, or whatever you want to call it, Chus & Ceballos gave us their best music, dark techy, mild techno house, progressive and all the genres of house music you love and hate, some call it the European house music, I call it the Chus & Ceballos touch.

Great vocals made the dancers vibrate at higher levels, and let me tell you there were lots of good looking men and women - eye candy wouldn't make justice in this case, I would say it was more like high concentrate levels of sugar injected into your body. The vibe was what you expect from Stereo on a great night, very friendly crowd, and my feeling is the new Stereoheads are already learning the ways of the place. Loved the fact I was able to meet up with old timers, several of them came out of hibernation in order to try their dance skills again. Rafael Calvente, Isaac Escalante, Danny Torrence, Bear and many other DJ's ended up at Stereo as well.

Chus & Ceballos brought the music, Stereo provided the space, and the people were the ones that added the elements, the characters, to make this evening a special event to remember. Thank you Stereo for another incredible night of dancing.
