Kylie Minogue @ Bell Center - Montreal - April 28, 2011

Personally, I thought it was an okay show. Kylie's voice is amazing, and she brought a legion of beautiful dancers with her. Fun night, but I still don't understand why they didn't let Stephan Grondin to continue playing music until Kylie was ready to start the show, actually why even ask him to open the show? Nevertheless I understand, people didn't pay to hear Stephan Grondin, but it would had been nice if he had been allowed to play more than 4 songs.

The stage is great, and I can see how the water cannons will be missed in her North American tour, I have seen videos of the show in Europe and it looked amazing. Do you know why this feature was not brought to North America? Please let me know if you have the answer.

Javier Colon - Time After Time

I'm speechless with his performance, so much that I actually ended up buying this song in iTunes - watch it while you can because I'm sure YouTube will remove this video soon.

Matinée Las Vegas Festival - 4th of July long Weekend

I was told this is going to be a massive event in Las Vegas, and I'm tempted to fly down to see if Matinée New York will really throw a party as they do in Spain. Love the music Matinée brought to Parking on the Easter weekend, but what was missing were the Spaniard dancers, maybe they'll bring them to Vegas?

Bal en Blanc 17 - advise to partygoers

The day has arrived, all eggs have been found at this point, and the bunnies are getting ready for the night of their lives, in white I might add. People, we all know the Bal en Blanc has improved dramatically the way professional and non-professional ravers are welcomed into the convention center, unfortunately tonight it won't matter how good they are in this task because Tiesto is playing early in the evening.

My advise to you is to get there early (if you are a regular ticket holder) or risk to be in line for long time, and do no complain afterwards that you were not warned.

The time-slots are as follow:

TranceRoom: 9:00pm-11:00pm: Malek, 11:00pm-12:00am: Raneem, 12:00am-2:00am: Cosmic Gate, 2:00am-4:30am: Sander Van Doorn, 4:30am-7:30am: Above & Beyond, 7:30am-10:am: Markus Schulz, 10:00am-12:00pm: Ben Gold.

Mainroom: 9:00pm-11:00pm: Uppercut, 11:00pm-12:00pm: MS, 12:00am-1:00am: Hardwell, 1:00am-4:30am: Tiesto, 4:30am-6:00am: Avicii, 6:00am-8:00am: AVH, 8:00am-9:30am: Freemasons, 9:30am-10:30am: YY, 10:30am-12:00pm: N. Shepard Sultan

Have fun, dress in white even if you shouldn't, and be safe. I want to hear all about it in a couple of hours.

Javier Medina - Matinée @ Parking - April 23, 2011

Matinée, this delicious Spaniard group, which began hosting parties back in 1997, finally decided to bring their energy, enthusiasm and talented deejays to Montreal.

Parking was packed at capacity last night, and the flow of energy was contagious from the moment I arrived to the time I left. Billy Lace (NYC) was a great choice to take care of the warm up set. Nice style, full of vocals and good blending of a groovy house tunes with whatever else he dropped, and what I really enjoyed was the flow of the music, and how gradually he intensified the energy of the music.

Almost perfect transition to Javier Medina, but I guess they had to somehow stop the music in order to let the gogo boys do their, what I thought was going to be, the first show of the evening, a bit of more movement from some of the boys would had been better.

The sexy Javier Medina picked up the party and he took it to the next level, by adding more groovy tunes, with a darker and softer tech-house music, splashed with a progressive style. I think he tested the crowd with a commercial tune, but luckily he decided to continue in a darker happier path, which was a perfect fit for the night, good tech-house.

There were sporadic acrobatic shows during the evening, which probably were only visible to the people standing in front of the mini stage, nice try, but perhaps additional gogo dancers around the club would had worked better, just make sure they dance.

Javier Medina has definitely found another follower in Montreal, and I can't wait to see him again in action in our city. Lucky for us there are many live sets available out there in case you need to get a Javier fix.

Great party Parking, and thanks Matinée for one of your first events in our city.

Matinée @ Parking - April 23

España is coming to Montreal this weekend boys and girls, and can't wait for this one

Bal en Blanc 2011 - 17th edition

Are you going? I'm pretty sure the place will be packed, but unfortunately I decided not to attend this year's celebration. Am I getting too old? Nuh, I think is more a case not wanting to go to a big party this weekend.

I'm sure it will be lots of fun, and I also know some people got turn off by the prices of the tickets, so I'm pretty sure Stereo and Circus will be also packed, perhaps not in white, but full of people looking for lots of fun.

Time Warp 2011 - Mannheim, Germany

I should definitely plan ahead and make sure to be in Germany next year for Time Warp 2012 - I was flying back from São Paulo while this party was on, and let me tell you my thoughts were in Germany all the time, only returning to the plane when the turbulence shacked me back to reality. The Luciano clip below is just too delicious by the way.
