Buenos Aires and Rio - December 2014
I pretty much had 2 Saturdays to enjoy these 2 amazing cities, the first one was in Buenos Aires were Summer hasn't began but they were up to +36C already. The second Saturday was in Rio.
Unfortunately it was not vacation, but I always trying to find a time to get to know a bit more of the places I do business with. In Buenos Aires the area of San Telmo has just become my favourite, so funky, alternative and vibrant. Then in Rio you just feel intoxicated by its beauty as I have mentioned in the past. I will post more info later on and until them here are some pictures from both cities.

Brazil - May 2014
It is incredible, we are already in the 5th month of the year. I just returned from my Brazilian business trip, and it is sad to think I was so close and at the same time so far away from the Word Cup. It would be my dream to spend sometime in Brazil while this event is happening, and probably I won't see it happening again in Brazil in my lifetime, but this is how it is.
One interesting thing I noticed was that usually Brazil dress up for the World Cup, the people and business place flags everywhere in preparation for the games. I spent time in Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre and Rio de Janeiro, and in none of those major cities I saw any type of excitement. Maybe it is a way to protest the a lot of money has been spent in the games, while there are so many social issues in the country.
Nevertheless I know once the games begin, Brazilians will go crazy, and yes there will be so many issues with transportation, and everything else but I guarantee you first time visitors will fall in love with this country. I also believe first time visitors will be surprise to find out how expensive Brazil really is.
This picture was taken from the Sheraton Leblon in Rio de Janeiro, and in the background you see the favela of Vidigal. The contrast is just incredible, where the poorest people of the city own what could be the most expensive real estate, and have the best view of all.

and this other picture was taken while leaving Rio de Janeiro, from the Galeão Airport (GIG), and I have no idea what is the name of those mountains in the back. Edit: the pointing peak at the end is called "dedo de Deus" (God's finger).

São Paulo, Rio and Fortaleza - Jan 2014
Work took me to Brazil again, usually I always end up in São Paulo, fortunately this time I also travelled to the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Fortaleza. The weather was just perfect specially since it meant leaving the cold Canadian weather behind.
Although it was for work, I always find sometime to enjoy myself, and you have to, otherwise you would go insane if life was only about work right?
São Paulo is a great city to work and to go out at night time. First time ever I've eaten Amazonian ants in my life, and they were really tasty, and for my fellow travelers GRU (airport) is going under some expansion and they hope to have the new terminal ready for the World Cup - we can only hope right?
Rio de Janeiro is just a beautiful city with good looking people, and an intoxicating vibe that will make you want to exercise your body in one way or another. Another first for me, while flying back to Sao Paulo from Rio, the rain was really coming down strong and my plane had to abort landing at the last second, it was a crazy feeling having those turbines working extra hard to get that heavy baby up in the air again.
Finally, Fortaleza is a city located in the very north part of the country with a very boring weather, 30C all year around. I must say there is something special about Fortaleza, an interesting mix of people. Second time in this city and I'm really enjoying it. Just one thing, Taxi companies of Fortaleza please get your Point of Sales machine so we can pay your fare with a credit card.
