Electric Daisy Carnival 2012 - New York City
The former California festival that moved to Las Vegas and have travelled to different cities in North America, including a visit to Puerto Rico, has decided that New York City needs another Summer festival. May 18 19, and 20 at the MetFile Stadium, which is actually located in New Jersey, but who cares right?
It is very impressive lineup and so is the ticket prices, and I must say I caved in to my friend's offer and I'm going to be checking out one of the 3 days of the festival.
Europe is the one that used to have all those major festivals, and now North America in following the trend, I'm just concerned how expensive those events have become. One thing for sure is these festival are changing the music taste of the people, yes they have to give a bit of the commercial talent out there, and I just hope this is enough to attract the people to learn more about music.
See you in New York City.

Pam Ann - Around the World Tour in Canada
Ladies and gentlemen, one of the funniest comedian I've seen in a long time is returning to Canada in the month of June 2012. I believe I've seen her 3 or 4 times, and she is fabulous. Last time I saw her was back in 2009 during a cruise in the Baltic sea, Deejay Abel actually introduced me to her and what a character. If you are in any of the touring cities make sure to get your ticket and check her out. Posting below the press release:
Pam Ann - Around the World Celebrity Air Hostess PAM ANN jet sets into Canada on her Worldwide Tour “AROUND THE WORLD”
Comedian Pam Ann returns to Canada on her worldwide tour of her brand new one-woman show, “Around the World”.
Pam Ann continues to take passengers on thrill rides at thirty thousand feet above ground in all her raucous productions.
Says the Sydney Morning Herald, “Glamorous, vicious, camp and larger than life, the bitchy yet heart-warming trolley dolly in tight candy-pink uniform, enormous hair, huge lashes and disco boots rules the skies.” So shut the F**k up, sit the F**k down, lock your seats in the upright position and prepare for the ride of your life.
What happened to the golden age of Flying? When the ladies always wore heels, donned their finest couture and had hairdos so big they could barely get on board. In those days passengers would sit in the cockpit drinking champagne with the captain enroute to LA. The only exciting thing about flying these days is the thought of maybe not being able to leave the plane alive!
Where's the glamour? Where's the fun?
It's here - PAM ANN will bring the thrill back into flying.
PAM ANN, A-list Air hostess to the stars, touches down again in Toronto. Glamorous, glitzy and wildly hilarious Pucci clad Pam has played sold-out shows on major through Europe,Canada and US. She once toured with Cher and crewed for Elton John, and even Madonna is a huge fan, describing PAM as "cruelly funny". As early as June 2012 you can take part in the unique and bizarre PAM ANN shows in Canada. Stand-up Comedy, 18+

Dear Friends, please, just LET me BE, LET me BE! >> The Time Has Come for ME to "finally" BE MYSELF!! :) I have been telling people for so many years now to JUST BE YOURSELF!! But for me, being myself was living with 1 foot in a closet and 1 outside "trying" to BE the happiest DJ on Earth, which I have been, and give the World the best I had to Give because I know how happy I have made people with the gift of music from GOD and this has been a great blessing .... so I simply Could Not Stop!! Since everything has CHANGED since I first realized I wanted to BE a DJ forever like playing records" and getting a job in nightclubs back in the early 70's (gag) and now here I am at 51, been around the world many times, put over One Million Miles in the sky, 3 full Passports and my Heart has been YEARNING for something New & Different besides music. BUT, as I have been trying to STOP and make BIG changes like finally calling my home in Miami since 2006 HOME, but was always to busy between NY residencies and travels and it's been getting the best of me lately. Airplanes, Airports, Hotels, Foreign-isms, and what can I say: I HAVE SEEN THE MOUNTAINTOP as a DJ and I just need to STOP and smell the roses of my life and simply try to "Grow Up and BE who I really am" but "everything" - including the need for finances to afford my Loft of 10 years in NY which I can no longer afford and must let go of by July . . . I know many people think I am wealthy but I assure I am not! I have lived well and have very nice things to show for my earnings, but I cannot stop working!! When I say I have been writing for the past 5 days, it has been DEEP!! I kept starting over and over and it's turned into a major journal and sooooo much of this I promise I want to share with ALL of you, The Good and The Bad, but thankfully it's mostly good! ON my way home on Wed from DR & Montreal I was having a bad day as I had a head cold, and there's no enjoyment in an airplane or in a hotel room out of the country with a headcold .... anyhow, I was traveling back to Miami alone as my co-workers flew back to NY and I was just looking out the window the whole flight and for 3 hours I was just thinking HOW AM I EVER GOING TO PROPERLY RESIGN (not retire) . . . And when I got home I realized I left a small carry on murse bag with many personal things, keys, passport and so on and at first all I could feel was FURY!! I tried everything between Lost & Found and the car service, but as my ID was in there and now 6 days later no return, well all I can say is that THIS has been The Revelation that I needed to say: LADIES & GENTLEMEN: As of this day, I am "resigning" (not retiring) and all future gigs will sadly BE canceled except for My Belated Birthday @ Pacha on Sat April 28th! This will BE my final gig until I feel I am ready to return back to the decks. This is thee hardest decision I have ever had to make in my career, but if not now, then when?? I apologize to all parties involved but I think most people that know me personally know that this has been coming! I have performed at WMC 26 years in a row! I have played every year in Ibiza since 2000! It's time for ME to Stop and settle down, move out from the loft which will BE a very MAJOR ordeal . . . OMG!! I have soooooooooo much STUFF!!! There is no way I can do all this and travel and have a life . . . Only I can make the decisions of what stays and what goes, including what I will do with over 10,000 records, etc etc etc ....... SO in closing: I LOVE YOU ALL and I just wanna Thank U 4 Lettin me BE MYSELF all these years, and now I beg you to please continue with me in my journey and my quest for something new and wonderful. I will never give up my first love with MUSIC, but there has to BE something else (or someone) out there waiting for me! :) >> I promise to keep updating here, but I needed to do this today - in order to BE FREE & BE ME!! Please BE kind, this has not been easy and I am a very sensitive person. God BE with US all! See you soon!! :)

Damn! News travels fast, eh? Look Ma, I'm in The Post!! hehe . . . . So yeah, sources told them I was burned out from all the traveling . . . I guess this is partly true as it's only been exactly 19 years since I first left the USA to perform for the first time ever overseas in Italy and 34 countries later, many returns, several residencies, a ton of studio sessions, and by the Grace of God, somehow never falling victim to drugs or drinking addictions as The Music was always enough ... and you know the rest ... AND I think most people would have burned out after only 10 years of this!! Consider also, I didn't start hitting the road until I was 32!! >>> BUT oooF!! Now that I know Tiesto made $20 Million last year? Mamma Mia!! I might BE giving my buddy a call to see if he needs an assistant?? hehe Just kidding . . . Respect to Tiesto and all DJ's making a fortune as entertainers! >> And why not? DJ's are Legit!! :) We see people making fortunes over "nonsense" all the time ... So I am all for all DJ's making it BIG!! Sincerely!! >>> OK, I'm about to make a Range Rover Road trip to NYC!! I'm a comin home kids to pack up the vinyl stacks and BE with all of you @ Pacha next Saturday!! :) This will Not BE my final performance ever! Please remember how many times I have said "resigning" and always followed it with "not retiring" . . . However, I will BE taking "Plenty of time Off" to re-think, re-invent, re-flect, re-new, pack, unpack, move out, move in, Breathe in Love & Exhale Peace ..... and even get further in touch with my very own "spirit"! ** I guess this happens after 50!! ;-) ALSO: to BE with my dear Papa & fam for his 83rd birthday next month! Yay! Time to chill with my wonderful relatives for what will BE my first summer OFF in NYC since 1992!!! AND: maybe finally BE able to attend many event of theirs which I've been absent from most for the past 20 years i.e. weddings, birthdays, holidays, baptisms, christenings, confirmations, etc, ALL 4 The Love Of House! :) Thank God that they have all always understood, supported, respected and appreciated my devotion to music and being a DJ/Entertainer and have been very proud of my many accomplishments! I have lived the American Dream and now I am simply taking time off to pursue even more dreams!! So, Never Stop Living Your Dreams - Because: Dreams DO Come True!! I am living proof and I will BE back!! Thanks & God bless all of you! :)

My Music - Chapter 1
My Music is not a Windows folder in my computer, instead is a little story on how music, along the years, created the pseudonym of Patius, the character I use today to write the Patius blog.
I remember one day I was probably 6 or 7 years old, in the town of Leopoldo de Bulhões, I was outside in the porch and the radio was playing, if my memory doesn’t fail me, something from Donna Summers. It was probably one of her disco hit songs, and I was dancing with passion, moving my hips because I could feel the music, but not lifting my arms. These 3 minutes of euphoria were interrupted when I looked around and saw my father enjoying the Patius kid’s version of what would be one day “do you think you can dance”, that was my cue to run and hide from this shameless moment of freedom I had embarked at such a young age.
My parents should have seen what was to come. Hello? Donna Summers and dancing at six years old?
Loved the school dances and tried not to miss any of them, this is where I had the chance to keep moving my hips and to perfection the coordination between the rhythm of the music and the movement of my body. You heard it before, feel the music and let your body follow.
Few years later in the city of Goiânia, I kept my love for the school dances, we are talking the 80’s already, and Disco had left us, and it had been replaced by Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper and many others. Rock was also everywhere, Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Queen, AC/DC, but although I enjoyed those tunes, my tasted gravitated towards the dancing tunes.
Music wise, the 80’s was a great decade to be in Brazil, Brazilian rock literally rocked my world. Already living in Brasilia, actually I lived in Guara, a satellite city, and now I was a teenager singing the tunes of Camisa de Vênus, Barão Vermelho, Kid Abelha, Paralamas do Sucesso, Ultraje a Rigor and many others.
Music was there to be enjoyed, and now I was actually allowed to go to house parties, kept going to the school dances, but then I was also moving on to more serious stuff. Finally arrived the day when my brothers actually took me to different concerts. I remember the first time my brothers drove me to this little bar in the basement of this commercial building in Brasilia. I can only remember the great party we had, and it was all about music and dancing, it felt as if I couldn’t get enough. House parties, karaoke nights, concerts, man had I made it to the big leagues already?
In my last year in Brasilia, there was a new kid from Venezuela at my school. One of the house parties was at his place, and it was the first time I can say I actually enjoyed listening to Latin music, you must remember until then Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia and many other Latin styles were solely my parents music, as a teenager I could never allow myself to enjoy those tunes right? It was my parents music.
Probably this Venezuelan kid has no idea how his party prepared me music wise to my return to El Salvador in the late 80’s.

Bal en Blanc @ Convention Center - Montreal, April 8, 2012
Another year and here we are again, the big party that kind of set the beginning of the Summer in Montreal. Although I love Danny Tenaglia and other deejays in the list, I will not be attending the event this year. If you are, please be safe and have fun, and meet new people.
