Playa del Carmen, Mexico
First time I visited this city was almost 11 years ago, back then I had travelled to Cozumel for a 5 star scuba diving adventure, and one day we decided to visit Playa del Carmen, which was only a boat ride from the island. If you believe love at first sight, this is exactly what I felt about this small city, and I promised one day to return with more time. Yes, it took me more than 10 years but I returned and I'm glad I did. I was flying to visit my parents in El Salvador and decided to add Playa to my itinerary, specially since the Arena Festival was on at the same time, and some of my favourite deejays were scheduled to be in different clubs of the city: Miss Honey Dijon, Javier Medina, Peter Rauhofer, Isaac Escalante, Chus and Ceballos, Ana Paula, Deko-Ze, Stephan Grondin and others. The Arena Festival has a potential to become a major music festival, it just needs more exposure out there. I know the BPM festival happens just a a couple of weeks...
