Sydney Mardi Gras 2008

I guess the boys and girls are recovering today from last night parade (March 1), and the sold out Mardi Gras party at the Moore Park. It has been 30 years since the first protest march back on June 24, 1978 - which had Stonewall Riots written all over as soon as the police roveked the permission granted for the march.

Today this is one of the largest LGBT events in the world, and every year I keep saying I'm going to be there, but it hasn't happened yet. My understanding is that the IKEA float was one of the most interesting floats on the parade.
